Exploring the role of populations in Myanmar’s conflict, this short paper outlines the importance in solving the everyday security threats faced by conflict-affected populations in Myanmar to the achievement of lasting peace.

The paper was presented at the June 2013 ‘Myanmar in Reform’ Conference at Hong Kong University. It was published as part of a collection of papers by leading Myanmar-focused scholars.
